Deep Layer Security Advisory

IT Infrastructure & Operations

IT infrastructure that supports the business — not constrains it.

Most IT environments evolve organically. Decisions made for speed or convenience compound into technical debt, operational fragility, and security blind spots. A server that was temporary five years ago is now running production. Backup jobs that nobody monitors are silently failing. Monitoring covers the systems you know about — not the ones you have forgotten.

Deep Layer assesses your entire IT environment against established frameworks, identifies the gaps that create the most risk, and produces an actionable modernization roadmap with effort estimates and priority sequencing. The goal is not a report — it is a clear path from where you are to where you need to be.

Challenges We Address

The problems that bring clients to us.

Undocumented Infrastructure

No current architecture diagrams, asset inventories, or dependency maps. Changes are made without understanding the blast radius.

Disaster Recovery Gaps

Backups exist but have never been tested. Recovery time objectives are aspirational. Nobody has validated that a full restore actually works.

Monitoring Blind Spots

Alerting covers the obvious — CPU, disk, memory — but misses application-level health, dependency failures, and capacity trends.

Configuration Drift

Servers that were built from the same template have diverged. No baseline enforcement. Troubleshooting takes longer because nothing is consistent.

Storage Sprawl

Data growth outpacing capacity planning. No tiering strategy. Hot storage holding cold data. Backup windows expanding beyond maintenance windows.

ITSM Process Gaps

Change management is informal. Incident response is reactive. No service catalog, no SLA tracking, no capacity planning.

Ideal Clients

Who this is built for.

Organizations planning or in the middle of a cloud migration that need a clear picture of what they are migrating from
Companies undergoing post-M&A IT consolidation with overlapping or incompatible infrastructure
Teams with aging on-premises infrastructure that lack current documentation or architecture diagrams
Organizations that have never had a formal infrastructure assessment and need a baseline
IT leaders preparing budget requests who need data to justify modernization investment

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions.

How long does an IT infrastructure assessment take?

A standard assessment covering all 8 IT domains takes 2-3 weeks. Automated data collection runs in hours; the remainder is expert analysis, stakeholder interviews, and report development.

Do you need physical access to our data center?

Most assessments are conducted remotely using read-only access to management platforms, cloud consoles, and monitoring systems. Physical site visits can be arranged if warranted by scope.

What if we are planning to migrate to the cloud — is an on-prem assessment still valuable?

Yes. Understanding your current environment is a prerequisite for a successful migration. The assessment produces the inventory, dependency map, and risk profile that inform migration planning.
